Kenny Electric worked with Wood Group and Black Hills Energy to bring the Corriedale Wind Farm to life. There were over 80,000 feet of fiber optic cable pulled for the twenty-one wind turbines and substation SCADA panels that Kenny connected. Our team provided fiber terminations and Optical Time Domain Reflectometers (OTDR) which are used to verify the performance of new fiber optics links and to detect any complications.

With more than 60K wind turbines across the United States, wind power has become the third-largest source of electricity generation in the nation. The collective capacity of those wind turbines can power up to 34 million homes. Wind remains is a critical part of the Energy Department’s strategy to cut carbon pollution and bring the next generation of clean energy to fruition.
