Kenny was a part of the exciting conversion of Scott Carpenter Middle School into a K-8 School now known as Colorado Sports Leadership Academy (CSLA). Kenny’s technicians were responsible for installing a complete lighting package in all classrooms, including lighting controls, upgrades with a new gear package, a new fire alarm system, new telecommunications infrastructure, and upgrades to the intercom speaker system. The longstanding architecture and engineering required out-of-box thinking for our team when installing the one-line package and routing the fire alarm, but the job was a success.

The Pandemic proved to be a challenge during the remodeling as crew members were transitioned into rotating night shifts to avoid contact with students. As the schedules were adjusted and the workflow disrupted, our teams found themselves in a trade stacking situation that deviated from the typical sequencing of the installation. Kenny’s team spread the job across the facilities to allow for social distancing and avoid lost time and potential safety hazards through time management and collaboration with the contractor.

With the new name and a new outlook on educational pursuits, CSLA offers a solid education while also focusing on potential career opportunities in sports-related industries. Students can follow career paths from physical therapy to sports medicine to broadcast journalism. The sports career potentials can be fully explored as the students transition into Westminster High School

CSLA also touts its culture of embracing the lessons learned from the team and individual sports, such as cooperation, personal growth, and hard work.
